I think hand controls are for sure better than foot controls (personal opinion being what it is). I think the CASE pattern (or H pattern) is by far the best pattern for a skid steer. Separating the drive between the two controls makes it more precise I think. I was use to Case controls (both levers used for stearing and wrist action on each lever for bucket control). When I got My Mustang MTL25 (it's the same as your machine or Tak 150 ), I was aprehensive about the pilot controls. I just purchased a 2001 1845c and it has the foot controls for the boom and bucket just like my Mustang. The right hand control is for the auxiliary remote. I've done some research and found that this was an "option". Anyone come across this? We had a Lahman Little Dipper first, hand and foot, I could cross the sticks and do a 180 in a 9' alley, and I got along fine with the foot controls on the loader. Than a Case with the H pattern which was very easy to get used to.
