Doing what I can to make this old Scat Trak great again I attached a picture of the tapered pin (second image) that fits into the boss (third image) and the flange that the bolt/washer is seated against. Has anyone been able to remove this and were special tools required?
I priced out the pins and bushings and they aren't to bad in price so I was thinking about replacing them. So I was wondering how do you remove the bushings in the cylinders, also how do you take the lower pins out, and new ones back in?
Is fixing or replacing the boss something I could do myself or should I get a professional to do it? How do I remove the bushing from the right side which is still intact? Thank You.
The book shows the pins to be inch thick. You might measure the bores and maybe get some bushings at a parts store or check with your local Case dealer and have them call the company to get some information. Its an easy 30 miniute job.
