I would think if it was a hydraulic pump coupler problem nothing would work. No active codes that I see, just some past low voltage codes. Any help would be appreciated! I spent some more time watching videos and reading about hydraulic systems, static and variable. I have a rudimentary knowledge so now I think I am ready to start troubleshooting the system. My machine has no panel and no alert for codes in operation.
If this happened directly after a hydraulic leak and low oil level, it is likely hydraulic system related. I would make sure that the pumps were not starved for oil and possibly causing a low oil pressure problem for other type of potential hydraulic component failure issue. All the 289C's I've looked at are still running a mechanical injection pump. Although the headgaskets are a common failure. If the coolant reservoir is overfull and the sight glass bubble by the radiator cap is empty, good chance the head gasket is gone. The only issues we've had is alternators (replaced on each machine), one hydraulic quick tach cylinder and bucket bushings. The bushings were due to wear at 2K hours. Great machines IMO.
