I'm thinking about getting a mustang 2032 skid loader, is the mustand brand any good? do they have more/less problems then gehl or bobcat or john deere etc? i have a 2004 Mustang 2044, great little machine, simple to operate and repair. i would join heavyequipmentforums.com and do a search on the 2109. ive read quite a few horror stories about the 2109. do afew searches online first.
In general Mustang are good skid steers but the small ones from that era were WAY under powered. I rented one to do a job in very tight quarters and down a 4' retaining wall. One thing I don't like about Mustangs is that the hydraulic tank is in the belly of the machine.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the quality and longevity or mustang skid steers. The one i am looking at has an owner that doesn't know the model but it is a early eighties model and is yellow with a four cylinder gas engine.
Just bought this one as a project and the only major problem is it seems to lock up on the left hand drive after walking it about 40 feet, hydraulics are strong on the bucket area so that checks out, almost seems like a brake or something is jammed, could walk it about 5 ft and it only got worse, Have a shop manual coming but might not be here f.
The same dealer has 2 mid 90's Mustang brand skid steers that are priced about 00 less than the Case and have lower hours and appear to be in great shape. New tires, tight pins, no weld repairs, no leaks, good hoses, not banged up, and clean paint. I am going to look at a used mid-1990's Mustang 940 for sale (asking 00). Are these overall good machines and relatively easy to work on? Are the parts still available? What should I look for specifically when checking out a used unit?
